Injectables: Fillers and Botox

In today's economic climate, patients are looking for quick, less expensive non-surgical approaches to facial rejuvenation.  For this reason, injectable agents such as Botulinum toxin, fillers, and chemical peels have become the fastest growing and most commonly performed procedures in cosmetic surgery.
With the availability of these FDA approved products, cosmetic surgeons, who have been extensively trained in facial anatomy and function, are able to perform restorative facial treatments and "turn back the hands of time" with less downtime and cost when compared to standard surgical facial procedures.  As always, patient selection is extremely important to ensure that the best product or combination of products are utilized for that individual patient.
As an experienced surgeon, I always spend time with my patients discussing their goals and expectations in order to ensure that we achieve the desired results.  Often, we are able to do so with injectables and facial products alone, however, there are times when achieving the desired look will require a combination of surgical and non-surgical procedures.  In those cases, the decision to come to a plastic surgeon pays off, because you have the comfort of knowing your surgeon can do it all!
